Get to know Marley!
What made you want to be a tattoo artist or when did you decide? I began getting tattooed in my early twenties, I was enamored by the way tattooing transformed and helped reclaim my body. I continued to get tattooed for years and fell in love with culture of tattooing, I fully immersed myself consuming anything tattoo related and set on a path to be a part of this remarkable community. What’s your background? How did you get started? I began painting flash in 2018, I showed any willing person my artwork hoping to receive any criticism and feedback, eventually this led to an apprenticeship opportunity, fortunately everything worked out for me and I began tattooing in December of 2021 with much assistance from my mentors. What styles do you specialize in or prefer to work on? Traditional will always be my first love, however I’m currently experimenting with more black and grey illustrative imagery! What are your tattoo goals? What kind of pieces do you love working on? What would you love to do more of?My goal is to continue tattooing and experimenting with different styles, working towards larger scale pieces and free hand designs. Are there any tattoo requests you turn down? Will absolutely not tattoo anything promoting hate-speech or violence towards marginalized groups How do you work with your clients? Love talking mostly in person, it really helps me visualize your tattoo goals, feel free to bring references and sketches to really get your point across! Who’s your ideal client? Any one who likes my art and is willing to have faith and give me some artistic freedom! Do you have any advice for the first-timer? Don’t hesitate to speak up, it’s okay to take breaks, move the stencil, ask for design changes tattooing is a collaborative art and you deserve to absolutely love your design. What’s your favorite Local destination? Definitely Heartwork Coffee then head to Kobey’s swap meet, I love collecting trinkets, especially vintage toys and clowns! How do we find you on Social Media?
